Indications Vitamins A, C and D3 are factors in the maintenance of good health for all growing infants and children under 3 years of age.
Vitamin A: Vitamin A is involved in immune function, vision, reproduction, and cellular communication. Vitamin A is critical for vision as an essential component of rhodopsin, a protein that absorbs light in the retinal receptors, and because it supports the normal differentiation and functioning of the conjunctival membranes and cornea. Vitamin A deficiency is one of the top causes of preventable blindness in children.
Vitamin D: Vitamin D promotes calcium absorption in the gut and maintains adequate serum calcium and phosphate concentrations to enable normal mineralization of bone and to prevent hypocalcemic tetany. It is also needed for bone growth and bone remodeling by osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Without sufficient vitamin D, bones can become thin, brittle, or misshapen.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is essential for baby’s healthy growth and development. It is used in a multitude of functions throughout the body, including the growth of tissues, healing after wounds and protection against the common cold. In addition, vitamin C helps babies effectively absorb iron and calcium from his food.
Administrations Usual dosage: 1.0 mL (fill dropper to top line) unless otherwise is recommended by physician. Dispense directly into mouth or mix with formula, fruit juice or other food.
Contraindications No contraindications have been reported to date.
